I was born in 1967 in Athens, where I lived until recently. I am currently living in Aegina. I am married and I have a son. As a child, I had the great fortune to experience unique moments in nature during the summer vacations in a small village of Evritania. Harmony, peace, changes became integral aspects of reality, along with free play and landscape explorations with my peers and I think they played a big role in shaping my ideas, beliefs and choices.
My interest in exclusion and discrimination issues, the search for the conditions that would allow the development and unfolding of human potential after traumatic experiences led me to study psychology.
In addition, my belief that the individual and the social shape each other, influenced my professional choices and the paths I have been following since through continuous education.
I am greatly interested in the multiple connections between mind, body and spirit. I am similarly interested in the ways that allow us to connect and interact functionally as humans or societies – with creativity, acceptance and Love.
I am a graduate of the psychology department of the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Athens.
From 1998 to 2008 I have been trained in the systemic psychotherapeutic approach and in systemic family therapy by the Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AIA) in the following fields:
- group therapy
- genogram (study of family origins)
- couples’ psychotherapy
- group coordination
- systemic thinking
I have completed a 2-year training for drug addictions counsellors implemented by the University of California in cooperation with the Therapy Centre for Addicted Persons (KETHEA), as well as a postgraduate training programme in “Administration and Social Planning in the Field of Drug Addiction” implemented by KETHEA in cooperation with the University of California and Boston College.
I have been trained as a coordinator for Parenting Schools according to M. Hourdaki’s developmental system.
From 2009 to 2016 I attended seminars offered by Process Work Greece, expanding both skills and experiences.
Dreams, conflicts, body symptoms, panic attacks and group process were some of the central subjects in these seminars. In 2016 I have attended the first year’s training in the same approach.
In 2013 I have been trained in Bach flower remedies at the training centre Natural Health Science in Athens. As a registered practitioner in Bach flower remedies, I apply them in my therapeutic work with other people.
From 2017 to 2021 I have been trained in somatic psychotherapy at the Greek Institute of Biosynthesis. The latter has supported greatly the connection of my personal and professional life with the theories and practices incorporated within this 5-year educational training, that further urged me to continue with this journey offering me support, healing and a sense of progress.
In 1992 I have participated in a year long mission of Doctors Without Frontiers in Leninakan, Armenia, aiming at organising and providing services to an institute for children with special needs.
Following Armenia, I have worked for the Social Workshop of the Local Self-Gornment of Cyclades Prefecture, offering seminars to parents, educators and adolescents.
From 1996 to 2005 I have worked in the therapeutic programme of KETHEA “Paremvasi”.
During the most part of the period between 1998 and 2005, I was responsible for the operation of the Social Reintegration Centre of Paremvasi, offering services to users and their families.
I have been working privately as a psychotherapist and family counsellor since 2007, providing sessions to individuals, couples and families, either face to face or through skype. I have also planned and offered seminars.
I keep on learning about developments in psychology and other related scientific fields through seminars and conferences.
Finally, I have been trained in traditional thai massage at the Academy of Ancient Greek and Traditional Chinese Medicine, in thai yoga massage at Ghyta Yoga School, in reflexology to treat stress at the educational centre of Natural Health Science.
I enjoy spending time in trekking, yoga, music, gardening, reading, dancing, also with my family and friends.
I am a member of the μέλος της National Organization for Psychotherapy of Greece (NOPG, member of EAP), of the Hellenic Association of Systemic Therapy (HELASYTH), of the Hellenic Association of Counseling and the European Association for Counseling.
