“we liked what we listened to”

Some times we can comprehend the meaning of words, even if we don’t know exactly what they mean. This Monday we were accompanying the polyphonic choir of Lykeion Ellinidon Xanthis, that sung in the yard of the old municipality building in the old city festival. While people were gradually leaving an older couple from Germany approached and asked if we spoke any English.

– Yes.

– We have no idea what you were talking about, because we do not speak any Greek, but we liked what we listened to and we wanted to thank you.

Some times words are unnecessary. Or perhaps not?
