Spring implies what is to be prepared and taught: the herb-group in Stavroupoli follows in the steps of spring. A pesto made of stinging nettle, dandelions, purple dead nettle, chickweed, mint and cleavers along with some very tasty wallnuts for cleansing, an usnea tincture (it has been windy lately), a fire cider to support the immune system, a beeswax salve with rosemary, wild mint, vinca, chickweed, purple dead nettle (yet again), willow bark, yarrow, comfrey and a tiny bit of shepherd’s purse against pain and as first aid.
What is really nice is that some of the herbs we have been working on are gradually finding their way in the village’s kitchens. Even get served outside the homes on Sundays.
The weather will let us know what is to be prepared or taught next.
