the mycelial fabric & human communities: multiple practices of networking

Mushrooms, fungi, mycelium – different aspects/ expressions of a complex organism-web of life and its multiple manifestations.

Please come, if you:

  • are interested in the intersection of ecology and psychology
  • like mushrooms (but, who doesn’t like mushrooms?)
  • are inspired by the possibility of self-awareness or understanding of social systems as you sit, walk, interact in the forest.

A 2-day workshop taking place on the 10th & 11th of May in Paranesti (Drama).

The root system of fungi permeates every form of life in the forest and in gardens hosting diversity, symbolising the multiple levels of interconnectivity between all living organisms – humans included! Fungi usher us to comprehend existence as a state of interbeing. In few words: I/ we live because we/ you exist.

Wandering, art and practical activities will help us focus on concepts such as systems theory, mycorrhizal networks, shared intelligence, the relational self. We will walk in pursue of fungi and we will complete our workshop with something very specific: learning how to cultivate mushrooms at home (an applied exercise in encouraging connections).

The seminar will take place in open space, under the canopy of trees, so please get dressed/ be prepared accordingly.

Facilitators: Tina Lygdopoulou (systemic therapist) and Theofilos Komninos (farmer).
